If you are an entrepreneur interested in funding your startup, there is no shortage of options available on the market. Venture capital, angel investors, accelerator programs or European funds can be used to support your company’s potential. New financing options, such as crowdfunding and competitions have recently emerged, offering entrepreneurs even more benefits and opportunities to grow their businesses. Finding the right funding option requires doing some research, but with so many available, you’re sure to find a financing solution that best fits your business model.

The Startup Wroclaw team supports the local ecosystem by, among other things, organizing business events. We know how important knowledge sharing, networking and mentoring, so we decided to return to the organization of meetups, during which not only founders will meet, but also investors, institutions supporting technologies or students. The event will be organized periodically. We want it to become a permanent fixture in the calendars of the Wroclaw ecosystem.
- says Paulina Muszyńska, Head of Startup Wroclaw.

Bank BNP Paribas supports innovative projects

E-commerce for the moto industry, a loan agreement generator, a system for creating and managing scoring models, branch customer service in sign language or Value Added Services are just some of the projects for which Bank BNP Paribas has sought solutions from startups. Currently, the Innovation Team is launching a search for companies specializing in remote identity confirmation. This time, the goal is to expand the already existing portfolio of solutions supporting remote verification of people by adding more from this category.

“At Bank BNP Paribas, we have been successively bridging two worlds for several years: a large regulated institution such as a bank, and an ecosystem of startups, i.e. smaller, agile innovation companies with great potential and appetite for growth and expansion. Startups are technology providers (so-called Vendors) for us, as well as partners. Last year we launched a special financing offer for scaleups. We want to be close to Polish innovations, what’s more – to be part of them and create them.”
says Magdalena Dobrantz-Pośnik – expert on New Business Models, BNP Paribas Bank.

Financing innovative ideas

It is forecast that 2023 will be different from previous years in terms of financing. After the completion of the largest programs, record-breaking rounds, successes of Polish startups and crises in global markets, the moment has come for changes not only on the part of investors, but especially founders and their outlook on how to create technology and manage a company. In the panel discussion “Transition Year. Where to look for money?” experts will talk about funding opportunities for startups and this year’s prospects for raising funds for research and enterprise development. Ending grant programs and the brand of Polish startups give hope for greater interest in homegrown innovations from funds outside Poland. Does popular bootstrapping (financing a business with the use of funds own funds) will continue to be the most popular type of financing or will the leading role will be taken over by competitions, gas pedals, innovation centers or perhaps CVCs?

The program features foreign experts and startups

Among the speakers will be Efi Ben Artzy, who, among other things, is a mentor in various startup programs around the world and works with startups from various industries that he supports in achieving innovation and better product development. He also advises business angels on how to evaluate startups for successful investments and supports companies in raising funds. Dr. Peter Ney, another special guest, has 40 years of experience in senior management positions in the industry (banking, insurance, telecommunications, utilities, government) and experience in advising companies from the so-called “Big Four.” In addition, the organizers invited startups to present their products to a wider audience. The Startup WRO Meetup stage will feature Madnetic Games, NanoSci and Spacely.
