Made in Wroclaw 2024: the largest and most important business event in Wroclaw has begun

24.10.2024

This is the largest and most important business event in Wroclaw," emphasized Jacek Sutryk, Mayor of Wroclaw, as he opened the eighth edition of Made in Wroclaw. On October 24, the Wroclaw Congress Center gathers dozens of companies, innovations, and inventions from Wroclaw-based startups. The event has two components – a free Expo Zone open to residents, and the "Stage of Knowledge" business conference, where experts share insights on how to connect business, technology, innovation, and the local community – all essential for the future of Wroclaw and the region.

For the eighth time, Wroclaw is the center of business, science, and innovation. Welcoming the guests, Dr. Magdalena Okulowska, President of the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency, emphasized that this year’s central theme is “Stage of Knowledge.”

“We particularly want to highlight the importance of knowledge. Innovation is now a necessary condition for maintaining competitive advantages. Technological transformation requires us to keep up with knowledge and forces businesses to undergo fundamental organizational changes. Transformation is not just about changing tools – it’s about changing the entire philosophy of operation. Fortunately, at the heart of this philosophy remain people, and our ‘Stage of Knowledge’ will be a story about investing in technology and the people who create and develop it.”

“Our event continues to evolve. We are adding new elements. This year, we introduced an international startup competition and a meeting between startups and investment funds. Thank you for being with us and for your interest in everything that is ‘Made in Wroclaw.'”

The official opening of Made in Wroclaw 2024 was conducted by Jacek Sutryk, Mayor of Wroclaw.

“This is the largest and most important business event in Wroclaw. We are the third-largest city in Poland, developing dynamically. Your business ventures contribute to the city’s economic and social growth.”
Jacek Sutryk, Mayor of Wroclaw, addressing the participants of the Stage of Knowledge business conference.

The Mayor referenced the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, the economic crisis, and recent difficulties in government-municipality relations, emphasizing that despite these adversities, Wroclaw continues to grow dynamically.

“When I began my first term as mayor in 2018, the city’s budget was over 4 billion PLN. In our latest budget for 2025, we have 8 billion PLN for expenditures. This reflects the city’s dynamic growth – and this is not my achievement alone; it is happening thanks to you, the people of Wroclaw.”
