“Pitch Me Baby” is an event where startups practice their pitchdecks, or presentations of their projects in front of investors, experts and mentors. It is aimed primarily at those who want to improve their ability to present their idea. Its formula also involves immediate feedback – honest and direct feedback – after each 5-minute performance. As a result, each presenter immediately learns from those in the room what they think of his or her performance, allowing him or her to master the skill of presenting their idea to perfection.
A place for networking for the startup community
“Pitch Me Baby” is not only a chance to improve presentation skills, but also a networking venue for the startup community.
“We wanted to find out how other people understand our idea, and it turned out that not everyone understands the subject matter well, however. Just because we rotate among programmers doesn’t mean that everyone is a programmer. We should spend more time explaining the concept itself, and this is for us the main conclusion of this event, which is at a very high level. There should definitely be more events like this.”
– Pawel Rak, co-owner of Chainkraft
“This is an event that allows you to train your presentation skills, which is sorely lacking. While people focus in startups on the technical aspects of their projects, presentation skills are also very useful. That’s why such events are very much needed, and I’m very happy to have been able to speak at it.”
– Daniel Wieczorek, co-owner of startup Poley.me
A chance to realize the dream of your own company
For many performing founders, the “Pitch Me Baby” event is also a chance to get potential investors interested in their idea.
“We are in the development stage of our startup. This is the first time we have the opportunity to present our project to a wider audience. This is important for us, because we are at the stage of looking for an investor for our venture. I have had the opportunity to observe similar events in various countries in Western Europe or the United States, and I know how much value they have for people who are at the beginning of their journey in business. I am very happy that Wroclaw supports such initiatives that help connect those who have ideas, concepts or initial products with those who have the financial means to make the dreams of startup owners come true.”
– Jakub Kalinowski, founder of Croquet and Lama Academy
“Pitch me Baby, One More Time” is a cyclical event organized by Warsaw-based gas pedal Accelpoint for founders and startups seeking feedback on their own presentations. Startup Wroclaw was a partner of the first edition of the event.
