The Made in Wrocław final gala took place on October 16 at The Bridge hotel at 7:30 p.m. “Much has already been said over these two days and on both stages. I would like to wish everyone a wonderful evening and valuable networking,” said Mateusz Jarzombek, director of the ARAW Business Support Center, welcoming guests to the gala.
Tech Contest Rules
The performances during the gala were preceded by presentations of startups, including at VC Demo Day. The gong sounded twice, ten seconds before the end of the time limit and exactly after three minutes, because that was how much time each startup had for their presentation. In addition, for the next three minutes, the jury asked questions to the entrepreneurs participating in the competition. In the final, each member of the jury could award the presentations 0 to 10 points, evaluating the performances in the following categories: problem & solution, market, business model, scalability, and innovation.
Jury composition and prize value
The performances were evaluated by a jury composed of:
- Jeni Chang – Managing Director at Founder Institute;
- Kamil Pruchnik – Senior Regional Representative for Poland, European Investment Fund (EIF);
- Damian Klimas – Partner dotlaw, prawnik;
- Aleksander Widawski – CEO, JWW Accounting Office;
- Tomasz Serwan – Investment Director, Vinci SA.
The jury awarded three prizes:
- The main prize of PLN 30,000 from Przedsiębiorczy Wrocław, presented by Marcin Urban, treasurer of the city of Wrocław;
- A special prize of PLN 10,000 from Startup Wrocław and the Wrocław Agglomeration Development Agency;
- An additional prize from dotlaw for an intellectual property audit service.
Medicine and safety – meet the finalists
They presented their business profiles over two days. Now they had to do it again, but even better and more effectively. Most of them represented the medical sector.
The finalists included the following startups:
- Neural, offering an AI-based mechanism that automatically detects threats and dangerous events, protecting cities and communities – presented by Paweł Narolski.
- Orthoget, which has developed a hybrid intramedullary implant offering precise and safe bone lengthening – presented by Wojciech Buła.
- Vitabloom, offering a mobile application that supports women with endometriosis, adenomyosis, and pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS) – presented by Emilia Lewicka.
- OncoBag, which has developed an innovative rehabilitation bag designed for women after mastectomy – presented by Piotr Felcenloben.
- Valid Labels – by Awakast, offering a tool that helps manufacturers, distributors, and online retailers instantly generate CLP labels – presented by Kasper Stasiak.
Tech Contest winners – who won?
Three startups took the podium. All of them from Wrocław.
Damian Klimas presented the dotlaw special award. “It is my great pleasure to present this award to Orthoget,” he said from the stage.
“As a dotlaw partner and juror in the Tech Contest, I really liked all the startups. These are mature ideas that can change the world. The first three selected today will probably cause quite a stir in the markets where they offer their services or products,” Damian Klimas said in an unofficial statement.
“I am very happy for many reasons and on many levels — my heart swells with pride at this award. I have not been in Poland for 21 years, and both my company and I are Made in Wrocław. That is why I support the concept of doing everything in Wrocław and the surrounding area.”
Wojciech Buła from Orthoget
10,000 and the second prize was presented by Paulina Muszyńska, manager of Startup Wrocław. It went to Neural.
“The level was very high this year,” notes Paulina Muszyńska. “It is already a tradition that finalists from previous years do not compete, so we always have new ideas and solutions and can enjoy constant development and diversity.”
The main prize was presented by the city treasurer, Marcin Urban. “I would like to congratulate all the participants in the competition. I hope that you will be able to realize your ideas and put them into practice. However, there can only be one winner. The first prize therefore goes to Awakast.
“In three minutes, we tried to talk about all aspects of our business. The jury’s questions were very interesting,” says Kasper Stasiak from Awakast, full of emotion. “We are a Wrocław-based startup, we come from this ecosystem and we have known it for a long time. It has always been a huge support for us.
“An event like this and the opportunity to present ourselves to a larger audience. It’s not even about the cash prize we received here, but the feedback and information from investors that this is a product worth investing in. And that is the incredible role of ARAW in the development of the local startup community.”

A dress rehearsal before a great career
Mateusz Jarzombek emphasizes in an interview with Wroclaw.pl that the award has an important educational dimension, because Made in Wrocław is a good place to practice public speaking in front of an audience that grows every year.
“It’s a distinction within the ecosystem and definitely a cash injection, which, as we know, startups really need,” says Director Jarzombek. “But above all, we created this stage to support startups in their promotion. Even just appearing on stage in front of a large audience—and that of Made in Wrocław, which is demanding and represents solid business—can have a big impact on the future of startups.”
“Oxford Economics compiles a ranking of European cities, in which we are currently in third place. This is thanks to startups and companies. As a city, we stand with them and strive to support their activities,” says Marcin Urban. “Entrepreneurial Wrocław is a project that has been run by the city for a decade. Through this project, we strive to catalyze all the most important elements necessary for business development around entrepreneurs.”
