On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, startup founders, young innovators, investors, and mentors gathered at Concordia Design Wrocław on Wyspa Słodowa for the 12th Startup WRO Meetup. For several years, this event has been bringing together creators of young tech companies, investors, mentors, and anyone looking for inspiration to build their own business.
A practical lesson on scaling tech companies
This time, participants had the opportunity to listen to a conversation between Maciej Jacenik from Startup Wrocław and Tomasz Anioł, Head of Business Development at Rigby & Mercur and long-time collaborator of the Karwatka brothers.
“I shared insights on how to scale tech companies based on my own experience working with firms founded by members of Wrocław’s startup ecosystem. I had already attended many previous meetups. It was nice to finally appear on stage myself.”

Students investing real money
During the meetup, Bartosz Kocjan, founder of the Hossa ProCapital Fund, talked about his experience building Poland’s first student investment fund—based on valuations prepared by members of a student club under strict academic supervision.
“Today I talked about our new initiative at the University of Economics—the Hossa ProCapital fund. It’s the first initiative of its kind in Poland and one of the few in Europe where students manage real assets and learn to invest under the guidance of faculty members. It’s my first time at this event and I really like it.”

Meanwhile, Michał Patla, Regional Director at PKO TFI, explained how to secure personal finances in the long term. Through his talk titled ‘Retirement on Your Terms’, attendees learned practical saving and investment strategies using the IKE and IKZE mechanisms.
They presented their business ideas
For the first time during a Startup WRO Meetup, Pitch Me Baby took place. This was already the seventh edition of the popular series in which Lower Silesian startups present their business ideas, gaining candid feedback from the audience and investors.
“This initiative first appeared in Wrocław three years ago. It later spread to other cities as well. It’s great for those planning to enter the market with their startups. Wrocław has my favorite startup system. We have nearly 100% attendance at our events.”

Casual conversations that lead to real outcomes
Startup WRO Meetup is not just about expert panels. It also offers inspiring networking in the relaxed atmosphere of Concordia Design—an environment that encourages meaningful conversations and allows participants to build new connections, often turning into fruitful business collaborations.
