Startup WRO Meetup is a content-networking meeting for startups, entrepreneurs and technology enthusiasts. The first such event organized by Startup Wroclaw will take place already on February 28, 2024.
Unique community, inspiring environment
According to Maciej Jacenik of Startup Wroclaw, over the past year, the Startup WRO Meetup! has built not only a unique community, but also an inspiring environment for startups and technology development.
“We are extremely pleased that the first edition was so popular, so we are happy to invite you to the second season of these inspiring meetings. For the first meeting, we have prepared a strong topic, one that spends founders sleepless nights, and I think the one that is most often discussed in backstage conversations – the financing of technology companies.”

Experts will talk about financing opportunities
According to the report “Transactions on the Polish VC Market 2023” compiled by PFR Ventures -42 percent is the decrease in the value of financing from 2023 compared to 2022 in the Polish market. It turns out that it is precisely the lack of financing that is one of the three main concerns of Polish startups. That’s why the upcoming Startup WRO Meetup will talk about the challenges founders face.
What awaits startups in 2024?
In a panel discussion, experts from the world of finance will share their knowledge on the ways and sources from which funding can be obtained for startups. This is a unique opportunity for students, entrepreneurs or future founders to gain valuable tips and support for the development of their projects.
The panel will be preceded by a presentation of the main conclusions of the latest report “Polish Startups 2023” created by the Startup Poland Foundation, in which Wrocław became the leader in terms of the number of technology companies in the country for the second year in a row.
Valuable knowledge straight from the experts
During the upcoming Startup Wro Meetup, Agnieszka Wojdyr, chief administrator from the European Commission, will talk about the opportunities provided by the organization. The possibilities of the InvestEU portal, EIC Accelerator and EIC Fund, tools created in Brussels to accelerate the development of European startups, will be presented.
Ewa Smektala, in turn, will give a lecture on fund management in a company, and not just a technology company. She will explain the importance of being aware of one’s own finances and the value of an external CTO.
The content part will be topped off by Adrian Czyczerski, CEO of Meeting Application, who will talk about his business path in the world of events and what it means to be “Made in Wroclaw.”
Cash is the blood of business
During the meeting, Ewa Smektala of Cedepe will share her experience on how to skillfully manage cash flow, optimize it and effectively control finances. She will invite meeting participants to a joint discussion on how best practices in finance and controlling can contribute to market success.
“It is said that cash is the blood of business. Understanding finance and being able to use it effectively in management opens the door to sustainable growth. Cleaning up financial clutter unleashes creativity and fosters focus on strategic goals.”
– Ewa Smektala
The meeting is open to anyone interested in startup financing methods. However, you need to register on the event page.
