20.02.2025

Around 250 people took part in the first event of this year in the Startup WRO Meetup series, which took place on February 19, 2025, at Concordia Design. The main topic of the event this time was the creators of the startup scene, who shared their knowledge and experience with the participants.
Young innovators, investors, mentors, and representatives of VC funds gathered during the first event of the year in the Startup WRO Meetup series. On the last Wednesday, February 19, 2025, more than 250 people met at Concordia Design on Słodowa Island.

We met today at the event inaugurating the third season of Startup WRO Meetup. This time, the creators of the Polish startup scene shared with the participants the path they have taken as entrepreneurs. We keep our fingers crossed for their upcoming projects.

An extremely valuable synergy

According to Konrad Ozdowy, coordinator of startup projects at the innovation office of PKO Bank Polski, Startup WRO Meetup is another important event on Poland’s startup map, as many interesting people with open minds who are looking for new business paths come here.

“This meeting stands out in terms of size, as it gathers hundreds of people. It also features exceptionally interesting panels. Today we talked about creating the startup scene, from the perspective of both startups and corporations as well as investment funds. An organization like ours can be of great help to startups on their way to success, and they can help us become a modern bank. This is the synergy”
assures Konrad Ozdowy.

Knowledge worth its weight in gold

According to Krzysztof Górka, CEO of DFR Inwestycyjny and Lowercap, such meetings are very much needed.

They have great educational value, especially for young people who are considering developing their own company. This model of building a tech business, in which investors are involved, requires unique knowledge. That’s why I believe that the opportunity to share this knowledge with people who are just taking their first steps is invaluable."

Practitioners shared their experience

As Mateusz Tałpasz, CEO of SmartLunch, points out, there are many events where people talk about their achievements. It is precisely at Startup WRO Meetup that you can talk to people who have really substantial experience.

“This is already the eighth edition of this event, and I have only heard good things about it. I’ve been here before as a guest. I think I have something to share with the participants because over the 10 years of running a company, I’ve learned a lot. As a startup entrepreneur, I attended similar events, and they gave me a lot of knowledge and contacts, especially guiding me toward the right mindset. It’s important to understand how this industry works because it can help achieve success. We want as many tech companies from Wrocław as possible to grow and conquer the world. I hope I’ve inspired someone”
– sums up Mateusz Tałpasz.
