Thorium Space in a project with the European Space Agency. They want to replace Starlink
Thorium Space reports that it has successfully completed a round of financing and has the money to carry out its ambitious plans. These include a project with the European Space Agency.
“For obvious reasons, the industry in which Thorium operates is a very hot topic. Europe also needs to create its own scalable and completely independent communication platform to counterbalance Starlink. This applies not only to commercial solutions, but above all to military ones. Thorium is a significant and important piece of this strategic puzzle,” emphasizes Maciej Zientara, one of the main investors who once again took part in the investment round.
“It is gratifying that Polish engineering and technological thought is making a significant contribution to building European independence and reducing the technological gap between Europe and the major powers.”

Thorium Space on its way to NewConnect
Thorium Space has been investing heavily in the development of unique technologies for satellite communication systems in recent years. Closing the financing round and raising money for projects is a key step in preparing the company to enter the NewConnect stock exchange. This will transform Thorium Space from a research and development company into a company with ready-made products on the commercial market.
What does Thorium Space do?
- Since 2018, Thorium Space has focused its activities on the development of advanced satellite terminals and fully digital communication payloads for telecommunications satellites. The company’s flagship product, which is constantly being developed, is the Aurora satellite terminal, based on an intelligent Ka-band array antenna.
- It enables electronic beam control, communication with satellites in different orbits, and simultaneous transmission and reception of data from two independent satellites, providing exceptional operational flexibility.
- Thorium also offers the array antenna as a standalone product.
Wrocław in the space industry. The Polish NewSpace market
Wrocław has an increasingly strong position in the Polish space industry.
- It is worth recalling that on January 3, 2023, a Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Polish STAR VIBE satellite was launched into orbit. The Wrocław-based company Scanway is responsible for the project.
- In July 2025, we reported that Scanway would be the first Polish company to deliver a telescope for a lunar mission and create a European system for processing images of the Moon.
- In September 2025, we reported that SatRev, a Wrocław-based space industry startup, had a major investor and new plans. January Ciszewski is taking control of SatRev and developing a space ecosystem around it that combines the space, AI, and defense industries. The creators of SatRev are winners of the “330 Kreatywnych Wrocławia” poll.
