The Wrocław-based startup VetApp outperformed over 600 companies, winning in two categories at the Digital Health Accelerator Demo Day in Switzerland — taking home both the Investor Award and Best Pitch. Got a pet? VetApp is developing innovative veterinary solutions. Could this be Poland’s next unicorn, a company valued at over a billion dollars?

Vetapp from Wrocław triumphs at Investor Award & Best Pitch

The animal care app VetApp, created in Wrocław, was honored with two titles — Best Pitch and Investor Award — during the grand finale of the Digital Health Accelerator Demo Day, organized by the Swiss accelerator Tenity, one of the most prestigious innovation platforms in Europe. Over 600 startups competed for these coveted distinctions.

Winning the Demo Day of the Digital Health Accelerator program marks the culmination of months of hard work and is one of the key milestones in VetApp’s development.

“For us, this is confirmation that our vision of digital pet care has a real impact on the world. The fact that the majority of judges and investors chose our solution as the most promising and one they would most willingly invest in opens many new doors for us.”
Przemysław Mazurek, Board Member, VetApp

What vetapp does?

VetApp is a digital tool supporting pet owners in the daily health care of their animals, combining telemedicine features, health management, and access to specialists.

The startup was selected to join the Tenity acceleration program from among hundreds of global applicants. At Demo Day, they were recognized by the jury and investors. Among all the startups, the Polish entrepreneurs stood out the most, earning them the “Best Pitch” and Investor Award accolades.

This is a huge honor for our team and proof that digital innovation in animal health is both needed and recognized internationally. Participating in the Tenity accelerator program was a valuable learning experience and opened doors to the Swiss and European markets. Winning the two most important titles motivates us to continue growing dynamically.”

What is the tenity program?

The Tenity program supports the most promising startups in the fintech, insurtech, and healthtech sectors, offering mentorship, expert access, and opportunities to pitch to top investors and corporate partners. “VetApp’s victory at Demo Day proves that innovative solutions from Poland can successfully compete on the international tech stage,”
– say representatives of the Wrocław-based startup.

Will Wrocław’s Vetapp become a Polish Unicorn?

A unicorn is a tech company valued at over one billion dollars. Could Wrocław-based VetApp join this exclusive club? It appears they stand a fair chance in the race for unicorn status.

In January of this year, it was announced that VetApp had been selected for the prestigious Concordia Design Accelerator program. The City of Wrocław is both a partner in the project and a beneficiary of the technological solutions. Funds acquired through the program will be used for development work and for expanding features in the VetApp application dedicated to Wrocław residents.

“Wrocław actively cares about animal welfare and supports innovative technological solutions and initiatives that improve the quality of life for residents — including pet owners. The planned work under the Concordia Design Accelerator and collaboration with the VetApp startup aim to bring further improvements for the people of Wrocław,”
said in January, Robert Bednarski, Director of Smart City, Department of City Promotion and Tourism, Wrocław City Hall.
