Oppa’s program involves supporting employees of office and industrial companies and addresses issues related to working conditions, workplace ergonomics and forced positions during long working hours. Oppa brings real support in reducing absenteeism and employee turnover due to musculoskeletal ailments.
How does the Oppa program work?
The process of implementing the program begins with workplace audits and health surveys among employees. This is followed by ergonomics training, physiotherapy consultations and workplace massages. The startup also organizes health awareness events. A mobile app will soon be launched, allowing employees – Oppa’s patients – to benefit from personalized daily workout plans.
Startup Oppa puts the needs of the human being, in this case the employee-patient, at the center, who gets a comprehensive benefit from an employer who cares about staff in a modern way and motivates them to take care of their health individually. After an audit of the position, the employee receives in the mobile application a set of dedicated exercises prepared by a physiotherapist to offset the effects of stresses occurring at work. The rehabilitation available on the phone develops a positive habit of exercising at home, which translates into an improvement in the effects of the program, and thus long-term health care.
Oppa provides employees with direct contact with a physical therapist who educates, prevents or treats if needed, and the app gives constant access to therapy and exercise. For employers, there is a special platform with access to statistics on, among other things, the regularity of exercise performed by employees (this perfectly illustrates how each team is doing in health-promoting prevention) and reports summarizing the well-being of employees. The reports aggregate valuable metrics that can be combined with other business data, such as looking at how a managerial change in a particular team has affected employee well-being. Looking at the long term, higher employee satisfaction means reduced turnover, resulting in lower costs for hiring and training new employees.
An industry that has potential
According to the Central Statistical Office, currently PLN 12 billion is the annual private spending on physiotherapy in Poland (that’s as much as 75 percent of all physiotherapy services). Nearly 50 percent of EU workers indicate work-related ailments. Surprisingly, nearly 40 percent of sickness absences in the European Union are due to musculoskeletal ailments.
The market for physiotherapy services in Poland is highly fragmented and has potential for consolidation, so in the future the startup plans to create a nationwide network of rehabilitation clinics that could apply the solutions proposed by Oppa to their work with patients.
“In the fall of 2021, we launched the first Oppa program at an industrial client. At first without digital health elements. We focused mainly on the stationary operation of our physical therapists. In the following months, we did a series of conceptual work related to digital products, which allowed us to work with a technology partner in September 2022. Ahead of us is the launch of a mobile application for patients and a service for employers, which will take place by the end of the first quarter of 2023. In parallel, we are implementing the Oppa program at sundry companies, and we are currently preparing to launch the program at two automotive customers. The beginning of 2023 is also the time for us to prepare an operating model to be able to establish complementary partnerships, e.g. with companies or agencies that prepare and integrate comprehensive benefit solutions in organizations.”

Oppa at Made in Wroclaw 2022
“At Oppa, we observe market trends, listen to customers, and see what the market is currently facing. Events like the #MadeinWroclaw2022 conference allow us to stay up to date and be inspired to create a better future, because that was also the theme for 2022 – “Future Mindset.” We listened about the digital future, what the Human 4.0 approach means for us, and Expo exhibitors showed us a vision of the future for Health, Industry 4.0, Auto-Moto-Aero-Space and the Green Deal.”
– comments Weronika Rosiak-Jedz, Product Manager | Customer Experience & Marketing Consultant
Startup Oppa was one of the partners of the networking event that accompanied the 6th edition of Made in Wroclaw.
“During the evening part of Startup Networking, our team consisting of Weronika and Adrian had the pleasure of meeting investors, among others. We learned about business gas pedals, i.e. organizations that enable faster development of new projects, including through education, business and financial support. We were very pleased by the attention focused on #digitalhealth and #healthcare in investment plans. It is through such support that one can plan, for example, international expansion in the nearer future.” – she adds.
There were plenty of interesting conversations with representatives of other startups, enthusiasts of technology and innovation. The ones who are developing new products, services or ideas. These people are the reason why the future is looking very promising.
