The first mentor of the program – Maciej Szott
The first mentor of the program is Maciej Szott, an entrepreneur with 18 years of experience in scaling B2B businesses, who has founded four startups, scaled two companies, and made one exit to an industry player. At Luxon LED, he was responsible for sales and marketing development, leading the company from PLN 1.6 million in 2012 to over PLN 29 million in 2018. Luxon LED has become one of the fastest-growing manufacturers of industrial LED lighting in Central Europe, as confirmed by numerous Deloitte Fast 50, Deloitte Fast 500, and Financial Times 1000 awards. The second company that Maciej co-founded is Zeme, which he supported on its path of growth from PLN 500,000 in revenue to PLN 70 million in 7 years. Today, Maciej supports founders who are in the process of transitioning from idea to sales scaling.
How WrocUP Mentoring works
The program is not a series of lectures. Each meeting focuses on one of the teams, whose product, customer, and challenges become the starting point for joint work. Participants analyze sales strategies, verify business models, and examine their customers’ decision-making processes, implementing changes immediately in practice. The workshops combine brainstorming, hypothesis testing, and refinement of sales strategies. The program teaches an approach that allows startups to independently solve subsequent challenges as they grow, and the interaction between participants and mentors turns knowledge into real results.
Who we are looking for
The program is aimed at founders who really want to grow their startup. We are looking for B2B teams—from enterprise and industry, through hardware and deep tech, to software—that have an MVP and their first customers and want to take it to the next level. Startups must be ready to take action, open to feedback, and willing to test different solutions in sales, marketing, and scaling strategies. Each step in the program is measured by real results and first repeatable revenues.
What you gain from participating
After 6–8 months, each startup leaves the program with a tested, scalable business model. Participants learn how to generate repeatable revenue, better understand customers and their decision-making processes, and prepare for talks with investors. The program develops not only sales and marketing, but also strategic thinking about the company and its future growth, and the tools acquired can be implemented immediately, allowing startups to see the results of their work right away.
Cooperation with VC funds
The program is an opportunity for venture capital funds to recommend startups with potential but not yet ready for investment. Funds can observe the development of projects, support them in their first steps, and gain insight into their market maturity after the mentoring program ends. Startups receive early substantive support and tools for growth, and funds can build relationships with promising teams earlier than with a typical first investment contact.
Format
Meetings are held live in Wrocław. The startup whose case is being discussed must be present in person. Other teams can participate in person or online, although on-site participation provides the greatest value through discussions and the exchange of experiences. Each meeting lasts about 3 hours and combines workshop elements with mentoring, allowing participants to work on their own business and build a network of contacts with local entrepreneurs and experts.
