Mniah! is an app for ordering food at a restaurant. To open it, users scan a QR code placed on a table, then add their favorite drinks and dishes to a shopping cart and pay for everything online. There is no need to download or install anything, as Mniah! runs in the browser. What’s more, you don’t even need an account. All you have to do is enter your phone number, which will receive an SMS with a pickup code when your order is ready.
Two and a half minutes
Skipping installation or registration is a big time saver. Walking through both halls of Swiebodzki takes about 15 minutes, standing in line at a bar or restaurant – even another 15. Meanwhile, placing an order on Mniah! takes an average of just 30 seconds to 2.5 minutes, depending on the restaurant.
Restaurateurs take orders on a tablet, which speeds up processing considerably. When queues get longer, bartenders direct orders to the app to relieve traffic and serve customers who might have given up waiting.
– We’re already at Swiebodzki Hall, HotSpot and ZaZoo. We are growing at a rate of up to 200 percent month after month. We are only limited by the lack of an investor, although we hope that will change soon – Marcin Malak, co-founder of Mniah!
Three friends
There are three friends behind the app: Marcin Malak, front-end developer and graduate of Wroclaw University of Technology; Wiktor Jaworski, back-end developer and cybersecurity engineer, also a graduate of Wroclaw University of Technology; and Lukasz Werecik, copywriter and graduate of Warsaw University.
The idea was born in Spain, when Marcin and Wiktor went on a student exchange to Barcelona. It began to take shape in March 2023, and as of January 2024, Wroclaw residents can use the app!
By the end of the year we are targeting Warsaw, the Tri-City and Krakow, and next year we may reach the Czech Republic and the Baltics. The only limitation is finances. With possible support from investors, who knows what we could achieve. However, we depend not only on free funds, but also on substantive support, as we are still learning how the industry works.
Usage bonuses
The app’s value doesn’t end with the convenience of ordering for the user or the speed of order processing for the restaurateur. – We are already working on the ability to reach out to customers who have visited a restaurant to increase return business. However, we are committed to making users feel that they are getting something of value. For example, if we visit Hotspot in one week, the bar will be able to offer us a second drink for free in a week or two to entice us to visit again, the app developers assure us.
– Both parties will benefit. We are planning many more features, of course, but we will leave the specifics to ourselves for now. We will only point out that we want restaurateurs to earn more thanks to Mniah! more, and users – order more cheaply and more conveniently. We just need some time – they add.
