#5 Startup WRO Meetup kick-off of the year!
Hints on where to find funding

08.03.2024

Financing for technology projects was the theme of this year's first meeting of the Startup WRO Meetup series, which took place on 28 February at Basecamp Student at Sienkiewicza street. Representatives of both new projects and young businesses could not only learn from which sources to raise money for their projects, but also make many interesting contacts, including potential investors.

The second edition of the Startup WRO Meetup series has just begun. It is a content-networking meeting for startups, entrepreneurs and technology enthusiasts. This year’s first event organised by Startup Wroclaw took place on 28 February 2024.

“We have just launched our second season of meetups for startups, innovators and technology enthusiasts. We are delighted that the event is still very popular. It was attended by more than 220 people. This is even more than in the previous editions of the gatherings we have organised. Today, we talked about finance and what opportunities are offered by funds and other organisations that have resources for startup development.”
-Paulina Muszyńska, Head of Startup Wroclaw

The European Union focuses on new technologies, environment and sustainable energy

Attendees were able to talk to experts about funding opportunities for their financial ventures. They shared their knowledge on the ways and sources from which funds can be obtained for the development of start-ups. Agnieszka Wojdyr, chief administrator at the European Commission, talked about what the institution could possibly offer them.

“We are looking for startups that have the ambition to grow on a European and international level. These are elite startups and I believe they can also be found in Wrocław. Especially since there are many of them right here that deal with the latest technologies and artificial intelligence. I encourage startups focusing on the environment or energy to get involved. These are sectors that the European Commission will be particularly keen to support.”

The programme was crowned by Adrian Czyczerski, CEO of Meeting Application, who talked about his business path in the world of events. According to him, it is absolutely crucial to take part in events such as the Startup WRO Meetup.

“During the covid, we noticed that the need for closeness and face-to-face information exchange is extremely important and organising this type of event where young companies can get to know each other and share knowledge and support each other is key.”
