A Wroclaw-based company has raised PLN 3 million for training development with the help of AI

NeuroSYS

Wroclaw-based technology company NeuroSYS has received more than PLN 3 million in grants from the National Research and Development Center to build a system to support practical training of forklift operators. It will use augmented reality and vision analysis to do so, with artificial intelligence replacing instructors.

NeuroSYS

The goal of the project created by NeuroSYS is to support hands-on training in industrial environments. Students will follow instructions and receive feedback displayed through AR glasses.

Artificial intelligence instead of instructors

The most important feature of the system will be automatic verification of the correctness of the tasks performed. The operation will be possible thanks to data collected by cameras and sensors mounted on the forklift, the maneuvering yard and the cargo being transported. In addition, deep learning models will estimate human poses and recognize movement sequences.

We plan to use a special detection algorithm and develop a positioning methodology based on different markers. In this way, we will be able to track objects across the maneuvering field. We have reason to believe that artificial intelligence can act as instructors. What's more, we have already built a prototype system for one of our automotive customers.

Easier access to knowledge in industrial plants

NeuroSys wants to address some of the challenges faced by industrial companies in knowledge transfer. The automated system will significantly reduce the cost of hands-on training and solve the problem of low availability of qualified trainers. It will also provide a standardized training process so that all employees in a company have the same knowledge and skills. It will also allow rapid implementation of program changes resulting from, for example, new regulations or equipment. It can also be used to automate other industrial processes, such as quality control, safety or workplace ergonomics.

The project will last until the end of November 2023, with a total value of nearly PLN 5.5 million, of which funding from the National Research and Development Center is nearly PLN 3.3 million.
