29.01.2024

All those who plan to launch or work in a medical startup now have a chance to expand their knowledge and acquire the necessary skills. The Wroclaw Medical University is about to launch a study aimed at people who intend to operate in the e-health (e-health) industry.

“Startups in the medical field – concepts and opportunities” is a postgraduate course that will enable you to gain skills to run or work in a medical startup. They are related to modern medicine, pharmacy, health science and the use of modern technologies in these fields.

In the course of their studies, students will learn how to identify specific problems in the field of medical science, as well as how to find and collaborate with experts who can solve such problems. They will also gain knowledge of how to identify potential obstacles and risks in the process of developing and implementing innovative medical products, as well as how to cooperate with the medical and academic community in this regard.

Students will also learn how to realistically assess the chances of success of the project under development.

When the MedTech industry calls

According to Dr. Agnieszka Siennicka, head of the postgraduate course “Startups in the medical field – concepts and opportunities”, this is an excellent course for those who are looking for a specific medical problem to help patients, doctors or researchers in the field of medicine, pharmaceuticals or more broadly: life sciences by proposing an innovative solution.

“It’s certainly a place for those who feel that the MedTech industry is “calling” them, but don’t know how to get started, because, for example, their previous contact with medicine is limited to the role of patient.”
– says Agnieszka Siennicka

They will create medical projects to develop in startups

The postgraduate program proposed by the Medical University will last a year. It will consist of lectures, during which experts from the Medical University will familiarize students with specific issues in their disciplines, as well as practical workshops conducted by people experienced in the area of developing a medical startup.

The learning will culminate in the development of a diploma project, which is a coherent and complete idea for an innovative solution in the field of e-health or a related field. It will be created and developed in one-on-one cooperation with a selected expert in the field of medicine, pharmacy or health sciences, in the course of diploma seminars, and will be reviewed by people experienced in the area of developing a medical startup.

“As specialists from the medical school, we will help you understand our work in the clinical, scientific and didactic areas, which will enable you to jointly develop the concept of a complete and reasonable technological solution in the preparation of the diploma project.” – adds Agnieszka Siennicka
